For gold plated watches
Plating is the galvanic deposition of a fine coat of gold on certain components of the watch. This coat may be worn down by friction or by contact with heard rough surfaces.
Avoid rubbing against abrasive surfaces.
For anti reflective coating
The anti-reflective coating is a fine layer deposited on the crystal glass that ensures optimal readability of the dial by eliminating reflected light. This sensitive coating my be affected by friction or contact with hard, rough surfaces and can look like a scratch on the crystal glass.
Avoid shocks and harsh treatment
Shocks
Avoid all violent shocks such a dropping the watch. Apart from damaging it’s appearance this can cause premature wear in materials and components, which may affect the performance of the watch.
For leather and fabric straps
Avoid all contact with water (swimming, baths, showers etc.) Recognize that, despite your care and attention, leather is a natural living material, which will fade a little over time.
Temperature
Avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures: above 60 C (140 F) or Below 0 C (32 F)
Avoid sudden temperature changes. A sharp change of temperature can cause a slight amount of condensation under the crystal glass of your watch. This will disappear in a few minutes and does not affect the performance of the watch. If the condensation persists, please contact Premier Watch Repairs Services Center as soon as possible.
Magnetism
Avoid leaving your watch close to equipment that can produce a strong magnetic field, such as speakers, refrigerators, mobile phones, etc. They can affect the performance of the watch.
For you information, here is an extract from tests ore laboratories carried out using common objects in daily life:
A magnetic field or less then 60 Gauss (unit of measurement of magnetic fields) will not affect your watch. Any stronger fields may disturb its performance.
As a general rule, it is advisable to keep your watch more then 6cm away from such equipment.
For chemical products
Avoid contact with chemical products (solvents, detergents, cosmetics, etc.) They may damage the bracelet and the water-resistance gaskets.
