Disclaimer: While we strive for the highest standards in servicing, we regret to inform you that we cannot guarantee water resistance for vintage watches, including models such as the Calibre 8110. Due to the age of these timepieces, certain limitations in sealing and material wear may compromise their ability to remain fully water-resistant.
Whether you’re looking to restore a vintage Citizen classic or maintain your everyday timepiece, we’re here to help you keep your watch performing beautifully for years to come.
Citizen
Citizen, originally established as the Shokosha Watch Research Institute in 1918, has grown into a global powerhouse in the watchmaking industry. The company’s trade name was inspired by a pocket watch released in 1924, marking the beginning of the Citizen brand. Today, Citizen is not only one of the world’s largest producers of watches but also a manufacturer of Cincom precision lathe machine tools.
Eco-Drive Watches Citizen’s revolutionary Eco-Drive watches utilize a battery recharged by a solar panel cleverly concealed beneath the watch face. Among earlier innovations were the rare and discontinued Eco-Drive Duo series, which combined solar power with an automatic quartz mechanism, and the Eco-Drive Thermo model, which harnessed temperature differences between the wearer’s skin and ambient surroundings to recharge. Currently, Citizen’s Eco-Drive technology exclusively relies on light as its power source, according to the official website. All Eco-Drive models are crafted in Japan, with some assembly taking place in China.
Atomic Timekeeping Citizen’s Skyhawk A-T watches are equipped with advanced Radio Controlled Timekeeping technology. These timepieces sync with radio clocks in Japan, North America, and Europe, automatically selecting the appropriate frequency based on the wearer’s home time zone. With dual tracking of home and world time zones, users can easily swap these settings while traveling for accurate synchronization on different continents, maintaining the other time zone data. Additional features include automatic updates for day, date, and Daylight Saving Time adjustments. Similar capabilities are found in Casio Wave Ceptor watches. Another standout is the Perpetual Chrono A-T, which synchronizes with atomic clocks in Colorado or Germany, depending on signal strength and location. This model also incorporates Eco-Drive technology, ensuring it never requires a battery replacement.
