Oris Watch Service Procedure
Oris watches are celebrated for their exceptional craftsmanship and mechanical precision. To ensure they continue to perform flawlessly, we provide a specialized service procedure for both new and vintage models, executed by expert watchmakers.
Step 1: Initial Assessment Each Oris timepiece undergoes a meticulous inspection upon arrival. This includes examining the movement, case, and bracelet to identify specific repair or maintenance needs. Vintage models receive extra care, with a focus on preserving their original authenticity and charm.
Step 2: Precision Maintenance
- For New Watches: The movement is carefully disassembled, cleaned, lubricated, and reassembled to guarantee peak performance.
- For Vintage Watches: Extra attention is given to delicate components. Repairs are performed using genuine Oris parts wherever possible to maintain the originality and integrity of the watch.
Step 3: Case and Bracelet Restoration (Optional) To restore the aesthetic brilliance of your Oris watch, we offer an optional refinishing service for the case and bracelet. This includes professional polishing and treatments to rejuvenate their appearance. For water-resistant models, seals may be replaced to provide continued protection against moisture and dust. However, please note that due to the age and delicate nature of vintage models, we cannot guarantee water resistance after servicing.
Step 4: Functional Testing All watches undergo extensive testing to confirm accuracy, functionality, and water resistance. Vintage models are tested with particular care to ensure they meet modern standards while preserving their historical significance.
About Oris
Oris is a distinguished Swiss luxury watch manufacturer, renowned for its commitment to crafting only mechanical timepieces. Founded in 1904 by Paul Cattin and Georges Christian in Hölstein, located in the Basel-Country region, Oris has become synonymous with precision and heritage.
In 1968, Oris achieved full chronometer certification from the Neuchâtel Observatory for its movement cal. 652, solidifying its reputation for technical excellence.
Over the years, Oris has aligned with various industries and icons. In 2003, the brand became the exclusive supplier of watches to the BMW Williams Formula One Team, with the Limited Edition Williams F1 Team Chronograph becoming its best-selling model that year.
Oris organizes its collections into four families: Motor Sport, Aviation, Culture, and Diving. The Culture family, in particular, has gained fame for its jazz-inspired timepieces, including the Dizzy Gillespie Limited Edition. Other notable models in this line pay homage to legends such as Charlie Parker, Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, and even mathematician Leonhard Euler.
